Can I ask what size these fasteners are? I found a place that sells them, and I want to buy some replacements in case I mess these up. I'm thinking the only way to get these off is to cut them, and put in new ones. They are cheap enough, so it's no big deal, but there are so many sizes, I'm not sure which ones to order.

The Chicago Screws are 1/4" long and the new shippment we got in are giving us fits. We do tighten them down as tight as we can get them, so they won't back out but these, once tightened, are almost impossible to remove.

Rather than taking a chance on messing up the belt why don't we just make you a new one and leave the buckle off. Let us know.

That sounds great, but if there's a safe way to cut these and put in new ones, I'd be perfectly happy. If not, I'll take you up on your very generous offer.

We have taken a dremel with a flat disk blade - ( any Hardware store has them) and on the front of the slick side of the screw very carefully cut a notch in the Chicago Screw, just enough to get a flat head screw driver in. Now you have two slotted screws that you can use, and that might do the trick.

Good tip. I have a dremel, and the disc of which you speak, so I'll give it a shot. I hope my hand is as steady as it used to be. I'll give it a try this evening after work.
Thanks for the tip.

Just an FYI~ I wasn't able to get to it until today, but it worked like a charm. I cut a slot in the head, and was able to put a screwdriver in both ends, allowing it to come free. Thanks for the screws. Looks good as new!
