I did the same thing as randal. I have been jonseing for a day state air ranger for 2 years. I picked one up from long island with a hugget shroud (term for suppressor for air rifles). It is very quiet. Again, extremely accurate out to about 100 yds if you do your part. I have 60-70 yd max in my back yard for squirrel, chipmunk, and rat control. I will dial this in and go to town this spring.
Just spend an hour or so watching teds videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/EdgunUSA

Well, this isn't my first Air Rifle. I had a Gamo Shadow in .177. I'm nowhere as into it as Aaron(Grouse) but, the reviews and Youtubes I read and watched all show the BEEMAN X2 to be a lot of rifle for the money. Chuck and I use them for trigger-control practice but, if it's as accurate as claimed, it's a nice bonus. BTW, this is a springer break-barrel.
Evidently, these rifles like the Kodiak pellets in .22. The .177 barrels seems to prefer the Gamo Match. I'll buy an assortment of each caliber and find out.

I have the original trail and have put almost 1k through it. It still does not settle down. 25 yds is quarter size, 50 yds is 2". That is not accurate enough to ensure putting a pest down in one shot. The crack was sketchy in my back yard. I even put a "pepsi" bottle on it to knock down some of the report with the 18.13 grain pellets. I could get away with 1-2 shots, before people started to look around. I have a couple of acres here in norwalk. So, it was just to loud even for semi often pest control. The trigger, is Horrendous on the Trail NP1. there is a Golden trigger sear replacement that makes a big difference. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/ This is where i have been lurking for a few years. Great place to learn about springers, NP's, PCP's and just fun stuff. ~Aaron

I was shooting mine today at 10m into the long side of my crossbow broad head block.
The pellets went all the way through. The wife was not amused.

Dang, I kinda agree with
![]() Only airguns I've ever had were Crosman airguns as a kid. Had the .177 pellet/bb rifle and the .22 pistols. Cool enough for plinking birds and such. |

Watch the ted's hold over vids. these rifles are amazing.
They are also one of the few things you can hunt with in CA and still use lead ammo. I know a lot of guys out your way use a pellet rifle to hunt quail.
