Thanks again for the warm welcome. As I try to learn more about COTEP, I would welcome any links to informative/important reading concerning this forum.

Being a new guy, I would like to get it right from the start and respect the customs and culture of the members who founded this forum.

As a little bit more about myself, I left Manhattan, NYC eight years ago to care for an elderly parent in Florida. It allowed me time to resume my earlier interest in firearms and I started to become a collector of Colt double action revolvers and later expanded my interest to other handguns, rifles, shotguns and a 1911.

The safe is full, so I think I will just enjoy what I have and try to find some time for the range.

Thanks.

What part of the city were you in? The last place I lived "up there" was 53rd & 8th.

I was born in Fresh Meadows, Queens. As an adult I lived on 2nd Ave. & 90th Street on the upper east side and then on Central Park West between 97th & 100th on the upper west side.

My work was in midtown, so it was a pretty easy commute by NY standards.

A little different lifestyle down here, no?

The biggest pain in the a** you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you from the mirror every morning.

Good judgment comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgment.

Yeah, just a little - lol! Though I'd never go back, I sure can't wait to get out of Miami. I came down here ten years ago for what was supposed to be a 1-2 year stay. I met who would become my wife ten months into that plan and haven't made it out ... yet
