I saved , scrimped and lived On-Board or on Station to save some more. Never got paid much in the first place and then when I did the hourly calculation, well that is when I decided this was a higher calling and not really a paid profession. Navy Engineer. More hours in Engine Rooms, Machinery Spaces, Boiler Rooms, and the like, then could ever be counted.

Now, life is good. I spend all day trying to figure out how to spend my next paycheck. Still married too! Don't know how I did that. She was pretty much alone for nearly 30 years.
