I posted a pic of my new (slightly used) XSE Commander over the weekend and was asked about a Range Report. Well I finally got a chance to go the range today so here goes:
I took 100 rnds of Blazer Brass, 25 rnds of PDX-1, and 8 odd rounds of Hydor-Shock 230 grain I had in a magazine. The Commander cycled all of them without a hiccup. When I got it the Trigger had a fair amount of creep. Not surprising being a Series 80 gun. So Sunday a went to work on the sear and other internals with my Ed Brown sear jig and a hard Arkansas stone. Cleaned it up so that now it has a very crisp release at just over 4 lbs. ![]() Accuracy: Even with my poor technique I was able to pretty consistently put 5 rounds inside a 2 inch circle at 10 yards. My VZ Grips came in yesterday too so here is another pic. It's a Keeper! ![]() ![]()
