I don't necessarily agree with your forecast of doom for Armscor 1911s regardless of what brand name they're marked with (RIA, Citadel, etc). They have a solid reputation for value and customer support. I bought one under the Charles Daly banner in 2006 (EFS Field model) and it's been solid. So solid that I use it as a platform for a 400 Cor-Bon conversion They're still gonna be nearly a couple hundred less than the street price of the Ruger.

Ruger wlll not put RIA out of business, that is for sure. But if the Ruger is the same or better quality, Ruger will but the serious hurt to RIA sales. It looks as the gun will sell at or slightly under 7 bills out the door and into your safe.

That is for a gun that every part is USA made. With real Novak sights, not cheap ripoffs.

It may not put $400 RIA's out of business, but at "street" price of 600 or so it will own that part of the market.

I'm trying to find actual dealers at a distributor, but I think the price may be closer to 6 then 7. If that is the case the average buyer (where I live) will not even consider the RIA for a Ruger. Ruger has the name and will be advertised as a all USA made gun. With the real sights, integral tube, supposed build quality.....it will be a huge seller. (If it isn't a POS).

Product launches have been a bitch for Ruger in the past. The fact that they claim to have actual 1911 gunsmiths overseeing the production process gives me some hope that they have learned something......maybe.

And compare them to a 1911 in the same price Range like Remington R1...

Probably has MIM. But we will have to see if it is "Taurus" MIM or "Colt" MIM. (Good or bad MIM.)

If it isn't a Taurus, it is going to put a hurt to the low priced STI's and whooop RIA.
If it's built like Rugers' other Semi-Autos, RIA has nothing to worry about. RIA, contrary to purist thought, are a value well above their price. They may not be the prettiest but they run like most of the best.

I agree with Bald1 on this one. I wouldn't buy a Ruger, Smith&Wesson, Kimber or Taurus if they were .50 each.

I never meant to say that RIA were "junk". Actually recommend them all the time. But the Ruger is a interesting new introduction. IF......it is a quality gun then it will be a winner. If......

I just got the dealers price on these (). If you are on your dealers good side you will likely get this one for under $640 out the door.
