Spend more per a screw and buy less, but in a higher quality...and they wont likely ever strip out on you. (and find a screwdriver that fits the slot perfectly and keep it in your cleaning kit just for tht purpose). The improper tool is often what wrecks screws

Another good tip to keep from stripping hex screws is to buy a good set of ball-end hex keys (allen wrenches if you prefer). They are almost guaranteed to completely seat in the screw (and stay seated), even if you do not have it perfectly straight in the hole.

The ones they sell at Home Depot are very good.

I think I'd contact Remsport. They supply 1911 "manufacturers" with frames, slides, etc. Maybe grip screws, too.

I tried to remove a set of grips to replace them with a set Sarge made for me. The screw was so tight that the bushing came out with it and I was unable to separate them without damaging the bushing. I called Kimber and they sent two bushings and screws......no charge.
