I am fighting with it. I need another 1911 like I need another hole in my head. The 38 Super is a fabulous cartridge and a joy to shoot through my full size WC. I think it would be even more fun in a carry size piece like the Guardian. It you are seriously looking right now sheepdog I have found 3, one used, like new; one new, blemished and one new all under $1300 Happy to share the info. dennis

Default Guardian - best of both worlds

So I bought my first Dan Wesson (yes a Guardian) 3 years ago in 9mm - it is an amazing 1911 to shoot - everyone (including me) loves it. I began wanting one in 38 super, but could not find one anywhere in the midwest that they had priced reasonably.

Problem solved, called Dan Wesson and ordered a .38 super barrel and spring, four mags from Wilson Combat and wholah (sp), its now a 9mm by day and .38 super by night.

Neat solution!

Mike

Well. I did it. Traded my trusty Dan Wesson ECO with a dealer in Pa. for the Guardian. I have it and it is beautiful. No range time yet as I am out in Palm Springs desert outrunning Roadrunners (the birds) and trying not to step on a Rattlesnake. Got stranded on the Top of the Aerial Tram yesterday afternoon when the damn thing broke down. Not fun. My last tram ride. Ran ge report and pictures to follow. Oh, I couldn't swallow Baer even though I found a new 2015 model GT Monolith Stinger in 38 Super. I ain't looking back.

Congrats on the trade!!!

Getting stranded up on top of that mountain isn't that bad of thing....it's simple gorgeous up there.

In regards to the Baer's new GT Monolith Stinger, did you happen to see the price??? $3090 for the regular Mono and $3190 for the heavyweight in 38 Super, the 45's are $2915 and $3015. Unkle Les must be into smoking dope now. Not no, but hell no to those prices.

Ayah, right there, Ell. You are right It is gorgeous at the TOP. It wasn't awful but after 3 hours of standing in line for the next car down after having been promised 30 minutes to fix a problem I was getting a little antsy. You see I use 02 in a portable 02 generator that works well for me however my battery provides 7 hours of operation. A customer service guy finally brought me a chair and I was able to shut it down while I waited the last hour. They finally replaced the motor and I got down safely with 32 minutes left. I learned a lesson. Never, ever go anywhere without the charger no matter how long you think you will be gone. It was in the car at the bottom. Stupid. They were talking about bringing in Marine Corp helicopters from 29 stumps to evac us. Not very comforting to me as my last chopper trip with the USMC ended prematurely as our flight turned into a cruise. We got down, The tram ride is a do not miss. We stayed up top longer than we planned because although it was cold we had dressed for it and it was a beautiful day.

Dennis, I had no idea of your current medical condition. ya, the extra time spent without the proper clothing and more importantly, necessary medical equipment (charger) would definitely be a bummer! The fact the were willing to call in the cavalry was pretty cool. Glad everything worked out.
