this really pissed me off. We have in policy to eat out on shift so we can be seen more in public eye and visible to public. We get questions, jokes, lots of good stuff. I have only been to one place that refused to serve us. (owners son was arrested for DUI week before). MOST places welcome us in, uniforms are never any issue or any "tool" on our belts. Disgusting!! Heck some places try to give us free food or 1/2 off type deals.
Our policy is no free meals. If we get a discount we are expected to pay the balance of the bill to the waitress as a tip. I do this all the time and they love it. We get great service too because of it.

I think that people have become scared that an evil spirit will enhabit the gun and the gun itself will go on a rampage. In other words, folks have irrational fear of inanimate objects of certain shape.
Simply, peeps are nuts!
