Watched this video yesterday and it got me thinking.
Forget about the slow attempt to prepare for a home invasion scenario in this video, I don't think you can strap up in time (especially half asleep ). What got me thinking was the BAP (body armor plate) in the backpack idea. I use a backpack every day to and from work so, I would just sling it around and use it as a carrier. My question to you guys is what plates should i consider? Weight is high on the list. The lighter the better. I think 357 rated BOP would fit the bill. With rifle fire you would be really screwed without proper protection, Imo. So, what do you all think?

I personally don't have any from them, but I know someone who does. Finds them great, reasonably priced for the level of protection and weith manageable.
I do not know anyone that been shot with one, though. ![]()

Before I went to seminary and entered the ministry.... I was a convenience store owner in the inner city. During that time, both I and my wife wore body armor. Hey, it was during the initial Crack Invasion of the late 80's. That said, no one is getting up in the middle of the night, in the middle of a home invasion... and putting on body armor.
That said.... if you are preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse, Body armormakes good sense. In my honest opinion, if you feel the need to put on body armor to go to Walmart at 6:30 pm.... either move to a safer area.... or think seriously about therapy. It's way to easy to become paranoid. ALL that said... If you are confronted with a firearm, it will probably be a pistol caliber, and the perp is going to more afraid than you are. (in my personal experience). So, for me... body armor is not a reality, EXCEPT that I'm a Zombie Apocalypse Prepper. Go figger.... don't ever ask me what's under my shirt.... Oh... and don't ask if I own body armor... I would never tell.... NOW.... as I re read the original post..... a plate in my backpack? That I could go with, since I'm usually carrying a pack. Da ![]()

Altho this sounds legit, I doubt head shots will as easy as it sounds when said BO dude is shooting back at you. Unless you are talking about sniping then, you better practice.
