Bald1...that is a beautiful rifle. Does it have crosshairs in the front sight? I saw one in a gun shop last week but it wasn't for sale. Owner was showing it to the counter guy for whatever reason. I did admire it from a few feet away though.

Browning BL-22 FLD Grade II. Nickel plated engraved receiver, Satin finish walnut with cut checkering. She's a looker and a shooter! Sadly going to be for sale if my wife doesn't get some money coming in soon. Last in first out rule.

I can't find any pics but my first gun was a Ruger 77/22 rifle. That one will never be sold.

I have two rules:
1. Does it hit what I am aiming at?
2. Does it go "BANG" every time I pull the trigger?

As Col. Whelen said: "Only accurate rifles are interesting." To that I would add "Only reliable rifles are worth keeping."

Globe sights have interchangeable inserts. I prefer small circles in my front sights. But among the inserts that the Williams / Lyman 17A / etc. front sights come with is indeed are crosshairs... both thick and thin

Here's a typical set of inserts available from Brownells:
