An excerpt from an earlier post from 2012 by DG302 in this thread reflects my very positive feelings about this place and goes something like this:

There are plenty of great people in the world and a lot who will help without expecting anything in return. I just think they're in the minority in a lot of places yet they're the majority on this site.
