Good info but most will not understand the data when comparing to own loads or commercial ammo or rifle specs.

Case in point, comes up frequently on the M1A since it cannot handle hot ammo (port pressure effect on op rod, not chamber pressure).

Milspec for 7.62X51 indicates 50,000 psi and velocity measured @78 feet. Confusion is in psi measurement as military used CUP measurement and 50,000 CUP psi is about 60,000 psi units normally used by weapon manufacturers and commercial ammo people.
