it is more spendy than sams but their products IMO are much higher quality. Their house brand Kirkland has very good quality.....been pleased with most of their stuff.

Not even close. Walmart is like a Yugo, Costco is like a BMW.
Walmart treats their employees like dirt, poor pay, crap benes and carries cheap crap. Costco treats their employees well, great pay and benes. Carries quality products |

It's a warehouse club like BJ's or Sam's Club. It started out in Washington State, but it grew by buying out a lot of its competitors... one being "The Price Club," where I had been given a membership through a company where I used to work (at that time, it wasn't open to the general public - you had to have some kind of company or bus. affiliation).
