As I'm pretty sure you know, Statutory rape law was written primarily with the opposite genders in mind (i.e. the female being the victim/minor)... Still, it has to apply to both genders, equally. Furthermore, the defendant being the young man's teacher, there's a "position of trust" issue in play as well. But I'm curious as to when the AOC was raised to 18 in FL? I thought it was 17 in most cases. Still, it will be interesting to see how the court system plays out with the genders being what they are, in this case.
