A gun is a tool, no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

I'm going to but haven't pulled the trigger on one just yet though. I have access to a Bridgeport mill anytime I want so just figuring which setup (jig) would be best for me, I want/need to be able to do more than 1 lower.
They make kits to do pistol frames (1911/g lock) too.

Why on earth do you need a jig if you have access to a Bridgeport? A little bit of measuring and turning the machine's handwheels is all you need. Jigs are for people who don't have milling machines.

My jig was a cheap $45 jig from Range Tool. They don’t seem to have the store anymore. I used it for two lowers. It has some marks from the shank of the mill and the bits but it is still good to go. It is a very simple jig. I have been pretty preoccupied lately but both my lowers work fine. They may not win any beauty contests but they function and have both been used.
