They don’t. It surprised me at first. They are designed to sit on the shelves or the floor. I watched one video from the manufacturer and the reason is the shelf can hold more weight than the rifle trays would be able to hold by themselves. They had a 90 pound gun along with several other guns to show this. Fortunately the shelves are designed to hold six rifles a piece. So it should work fine for me.

Yeah .... I can see those pieces sitting on a shelf would be much stronger than just clipping into the panel itself .... makes sense now.

Somewhere I’ve seen a picture of one of the shelves with three 50 cal ammo cans full of ammo, so the shelves can definitely hold the weight.
