Default Newbie from Myrtle Beach

Hey Y'all!

I'm a 1911 newbie. I'm a pastor who has lived here in Myrtle Beach for about three and a half years.

I got back into guns here due to the nation's #1 gun seller in late 2008.

After carrying (or more often not carrying) a S&W M&P40 for about two years I went on a search for a better gun for CWP.

I also have a Keltec PF-9 that I've put a Northwoods trigger into that I'm learning to love as a rarely shot (because it hurts) but often carried (because I can conceal it in the pocket of a pair of shorts that I live in all summer).

The search for the more comfortable to carry AND comfortable and accurate to shoot came down to an alloy Government framed, Commander length barrel 1911, with a bobbed tail.

I looked seriously at the S&W E-series SC and the Dan Wesson Guardian .45

I like the spartan look of the DW over the blinged out S&W, and I liked what I read about the DW level of fit and finish. So I ordered one.

A black horsehide C-Flex is on order from Kelleygunleather.com and a black horsehide belt from A&G.

One trip to the range so far ... I'll make another post with that report.

Mark
