From what I remember as a kid, the 10 wait was more of a "cooling off" period more than anything. It was put into place to prevent people from buying a gun and then going right out and killing someone or committing a crime.

The one law I'd like to see go away is the "1 in 30" rule. That's where you can only register 1 new gun every 30 calender days.

So when I recently bought the 2 M&P's, I paid for both initially, registered one and waited the 10 days for it. After picking it up, I had to wait another 20 days before started the paperwork for the second one. Once that period was up and I was able to start paperwork for the second one, ANOTHER 10 day wait period started. So in reality, it was more like 40 days between picking up guns!

How is that for suckage?????
