I think a legal argument could be made that if it's not called Bowie and the state doesn't have a legal description of what a Bowie is then you might be able to argue your way put of it. But I'm no lawyer so my take has been when I'm in states like I am now (visiting Mississippi) that outlaw Bowies by name that I leave them at home and bring my camp knives.

I don't want to be a trial case.

Why do you need more then more then one knife to camp with? OMG I forgot you pick you teeth with one and clean your toe nails with the other one,

That still prevents me from carrying a Bowie for self defense.
