An Unapologetically American Look at the Second Amendment

What passes for political discourse on this subject is usually marred by flawed terminology and horribly illogical thought. As one of the hot-button topics of our day, I think it’s important to give our characteristic, Unapologetically American take on the subject by answering some of the more popular ideas proposed by gun control advocates.

Conclusion:

The simple fact is that the concept of “rights” were and should always be considered inherent. Whether you believe that means they came from a Creator or are naturally endowed does not change that they do not originate from the government.

They are not privileges the people petition the government for. As Thomas Jefferson once stated, “Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.” If you’re asking permission to do it, it’s not a right.

Consider these thoughts the next time the topic of gun control comes up. We can (and assuredly will) delve more deeply into this subject, but this offers an introduction to the Unapologetically American view on the Second Amendment.

Jefferson was correct. Asking permission to carry is NOT a right!!!!!
