Ummmm...I served in-country during Desert Storm, and we got C-rations at first. Korean War dated C-rations. Still have my P-38 around here someplace. Also, our MREs, when we got them had pork--unlike today's "sensitivity" meals. Pretty much, after awhile, we just tore them all open and subsisted on peanut butter packets. Good Times.
