Have you ever noticed... you go into a store.... could be a gunshop, could be K-Mart or Sears... could be a high end uber rich business..... doesn't matter... because when you walk in .... You're ignored. The people around you don't care what you're looking for, and the staff really seems "put out" if you ask them to help you find something? I find that it happens to me fairly often. Of course... there are those who would say "you're being too sensitive".... and "it's the way things are now...".... and they of course... may be right.
I'm a member on several forums and just as importantly... several forum types. Particularly guns and woodworking. And I find the same attitudes there as I describe above. Flames, ignored questions, no thanks when good advice is given.... There are one or two notable exceptions. And COTEP is one of them. I've watched the moderators and the old timer regulars (anyone with more time than me!!!!) and the level of commitment and camaraderie (God knows if I've spelled that right).... is way up there. Its nice to not get flamed, or ignored. Questions are answered, advice is given, and the words "good for you" and good job are seen quite often. Of course.... I haven't bought a Kimber or a Fusion.... The point here is.... THANKS to those who run the forum, and THANKS to the regulars on the forum who keep the place alive. (And a shameless plug for the forum owners.... If you don't have a yellow "Cotep Supporter" tag next to your posting name.... grab your credit card and hit the donate key. Throw a few bucks to help pay for bandwidth.) This, my friends.... is a 7am muse from 20 degree Connecticut. It's my story.... and I'm sticking to it! Da ![]()
