A 6.7-magnitude earthquake killed at least six people and injured more than 120 in the southern ippines late Friday, officials said.

The powerful quake hit roughly 14 kilometers northwest of Surigao City, at about 10:03 p.m. (9:03 a.m. ET), according to the ippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. At least 30 aftershocks have rattled the surrounding areas in the hours following the quake, the Institute measured.
Surigao City, is in the Mindanao region of the country and has a population of more than 140,000 people.

According to my "Earthquake Gadget," it was centered about 10km SSW of Basillisa, ippines, near Cebu. See Map....

Is that anywhere near Ell's family?

Thanks for the thought Howard and everyone else.

Luckily nobody from my side nor Mayla's side were affected, as both sides reside in the central to northern part of the ippines.

For all I care, the southern part can fall off and submerge, that's where most of the radical muslims aka Abu Sayyaf live.
