Default More Sunday Fun

Sunday morning I took my Mk III out for the second time after having the Volquartsen mods and the red dot put on it. I started out shooting at 27 yards off the bench using a pistol rest.

This was the first mag I shot at it, I was pretty surprised!

This was after five mags.

I thought I'd see what it would do at 50 yards next.

This was the first mag at 50 yards, I was pretty surprised again.

A look down the firing line.

This was after four mags{40 rounds} with one misfire, 39 holes in the target I'm really proud of how this project turned out

Nice! I like the slab sides. Gun looks great.

I bet you'd see your groups tighten up quite a lot by using match grade .22 ammo. The bulk box stuff like the Winchester 333 box you have in the pic (also other Win bulk and Federal bulk, CCI, et all) just isn't loaded very precisely. Velocities vary too much, the bullets are seated at off angles sometimes, the jackets aren't very even, etc. Yeah, the match stuff costs more -- it's still cheap compared to centerfire usually -- but the consistency will go way up.
