Default Gunslingers on 10-02

Well Howdy y'All

I have been very busy with the candidates so this is the first time I have to post anything from Saturdays Gold Coast Gunslingers outing.

Yep, it was hot, it is always HOT! 96 with about 90% humidity. The first rule is Water, drink a lot of water, the second rule is Water, drink a lot of water, the third rule is go back to the first rule........

ANyway, this will be a short report, since I am working on a new gun that is in the middle of being tuned and I learned a very valuable lesson with lever action rifles.
I am shooting a sheriffs model 3 1/2" for my cross draw and the hammer had not yet been changed (parts just came in today), going to a low profile hammer with a wider profile.

AS far as lever actions go, I am currently using a Marlin in 357/38 and I had let the cleaning go for a few weeks and in that time the gun got very gummy and when you try to short-stroke a lever that is not set up for it you wind up with a lot of JAMS!
So i solved the problem in two steps:
1-I cleaned the Marlin
2-I ordered a 1873 Lever (from Cimarron Firearms, 20" in 357) that is being tuned and SHORT-STROKED ! (that also came in today).

Now I am running out of excuses for not keeping up with the clock and getting the scores that I need to win in my category.

Any way, my friend Dave a.k. Warr Dogg and my self REDSTONE RIDER had a fun day (I think) and I have posted two short videos.
So sit back grab a long neck or the beverage of your choice and be ready to watch the BOTH 1 minute videos just click on the video
But most of all...Stay Safe, keep shooting and until next time

Yee Haww

Gary
