Default RZ10, and other tests using Karma rest

Well thought i would take out the bench rest from feather merchant.

RZ10

I scrounged up 150 rounds for the 10mm. It did well It is very tight. I had 3 failures to chamber. The slide stopped right at the base of the mag when moving forward. I think this is because of the newness of the pistol I will work the slide and frame like i did with the RZ-45 heritage.

I also had it fail to lock back the slide on 2 instances. This is what makes me think the frame and slide just need to be worked a bit more. The only prep work i did for this was wipe it down with hoppes, wipe dry and re oil.

Shooting the Ten was a blast, and a pleasure. I was expecting a bit more umph but honesly i found it easier to control in a two hand position than my vbob.

I shot it last during my session, and in truth i was just beat. so other than the accuracy tests i have no real pics.

Accuracy bench rest test
The second thing i did was take my karma gift pistol rest to the range to see what accuracy they had at 50'. The rest was just as wide as the bench they give you to put your pistols on. So when shooting i had to re position the rest about every third shot. Even so, you can see the ability of the pistols is far above my own. All groups are 10 round shot groups.

Frist picture, cci blaser 40grn lead round nose silver box.

Top group is PM7 Frame with Marvel unit two. They called cold range 2 shots in. The range was cold for 20 min, so the wide shots circled are those two. The others are the remaining 8.

The second group is the sig mosquito, cci lead silver box is not the mosquito's favored ammo, but it gives you a good idea.

2nd group Smith 617 used remington Thunderbolt 40 grn lead round nose. The CCI's have a high number of failures in the 617. The high standards used CCI silver box. I shot two groups with the 617, Having never really done a bench rest test, i was learning as i went.

The final 22 group was with my ruger mkIII tacsol barrel and red dot sight. I shot a total of 5 groups with this before all other tests to figure out the best way to do the tests. The picture is of the 5th group at 50' using the cci 40grn silver box.

DWrz 10, shooting at the bottom target groups 1 and 3 at same target. 180 american eagle. 10 rounds each

the 2nd group is here. this is where i noticed the biggest difference in accuracy based on which of the targets i aimed at. This is the head region of the idpa target, the previous two are the lower -1 region.

Heritage RZ-45, because of the issues i had with it i shot all three areas, BVAC 230grn ball, and 230 grn JHP. yeah mixed. 10 shots. 8 in the mag, reload 2 after first eight

Group 2

Group 3

DW Guardian 9mm 115grn PPU ammo. First group bottom -1 area

2nd group head area

AT84s another recent purchase. The front sight is really thin and short. so, i am shooting it noticeably high and right. same 115 grn ppu

P225 group 1, lower area same ammo

Group 2 is head area

CZ82 is a 9x18 makarov. Using S&B ammo. These are great guns. I accidentally loaded this mag with 13 rounds.

DW Vbob. same bvac ammo 230ball and 230 jhp. lower region

HK usp 40 using 165 grn federal TMJ expanding ammo

DW PM7 45 using the 230 ball and 230 jhp.

Lessons learned. Need a wider bench from which to shoot from. Maybe i will try blue trail some day in the future and do this at 25yds. Had a blast, and realized i have more work to do.

Nice report Aaron but I see an apapdmt problem. Half your targets were upside down xgem you shot at them. Next time flip them over right and I bet you will hit the bullseye. lol

Good to run S/S DW's very wet with a higher viscosity oil during break in.(not recoil) Tight tolerances, tands to make the S/S on S/S lock up. I know LOL

I put another hundred through the RZ45 today, so total of about 500 from the first incident with no problems.
