Default XDs .45?

I've been thinking about picking up one of these little .45s, but I see a lot of reviews out there about FTRBs and calls to Springer about the problem not getting any satisfaction. Most of those reviews are older, though, and it makes me wonder if Springer has fixed the problem on newer models.

Does anybody have an XDs .45 they can tell me about?

I don't own one but I shot one. i don't consider myself recoil sensitive but I didn't like it at all. YMMV. Springfield is good to deal with. One of the lamps on my XD9SC went out and they fixed it no questions and free shipping both ways. I've thought about a Kahr P45 or PM45. I have a PM9 and really like it.

I had an XD .45 around four years ago and just hated it, I've always thought the gun hated me as well. I'm pretty proficient with a 1911, but I was awful with that XD. I tried and tried, but I could never get accurate or comfortable with that pistol. I sold it dirt cheap with no regrets.

I have one, have had it over a year, Great Gun! For Concealment it fits the bill perfectly, for Me. Can't argue with 6 rnds of hard hitting .45 ACP!
VERY accurate gun too!
Let me add one thing, the XDs handles very well! For a Compact 45, iot shoots very well, and doesn't have a super long trigger pull, it has a short, about 5 lb pull with a short reset. Recoil is VERY Nice for the size pistol it is!

Same here. Same result and same with the I had. Hated that gun also but not because it was plastic. Crappy trigger.....my only existing plastic gun now is my H&K USP 45. I'd like to have one of the new tacticals though.

I had one for a number of years, Great gun.

People say they don't shoot well with this gun or that gun.....Sorry it is never the gun just the shooter, They blame their poor shooting skills on the gun.

It was bound to happen once the possibility entered my mind: an XDs followed me home. Up until now I haven't bought anything but 1911's, except for my wife's guns, in quite a while. I feel so .... dirty.

Like mentions about the Shield, I just figured I could use a carry gun for times I don't want to mess up a really nice gun. I looked at the Shield, too, but I prefer the trigger on the XDs, and besides, it's a .45 in the same size package the Shield uses to deliver 9mm or .40. I like .45s.

I'd include pics, but my Photobucket account seems to have gone insane. Besides, it's just one of those ugly, new-fangled, fanplastic wonderguns, right?

Range time to follow this weekend if the weather lets up.

Congrats on the new tupperware. I'm sure my wife fears the same thing with me thinking about another Kahr. Let us know how it goes.
