Default New to me 09 CBOB

Finally got some phone pics of my new to me 09 CBOB. I'll ask over here the same question I asked at the 'other' Forum. I need some help for my old eyes picking up the front sight. What are other visually impaired shooters using on their CBOB's?

I'm thinking of going with the Wilson U notch Battle sight rear and gold bead front on my Kimber..the Trijicons are over 10 years old..still glow, but getting dimmer

Default Old eyes...

Hi, Nice CBOB... Congratulations.

It looks like you have a white circular night sight on it. If you're asking about dealing with aging eyes on self defense, I honestly think that instinctive point of aim training is the way to go. Center of mass.

For target shooting on the range, rather than chase a variety of sights, I changed my eyeglasses.

I had the optometrist write a RX for me with a fixed length single focal length lens for my dominant eye that is centered a few inches beyond my outstretched hand (at front sight distance). My weak eye got my normal progressive RX.

I had this pair built as safety glasses with the side shields.

Now, my dominant eye is naturally focused on the front sight. My weak side eye lets me see the target and the rest of the range.

The proof is in the using. My scores improved with this arrangement.

Marc
