I got an invite here after posting a picture of my new PM-9 over at the 1911 forum.
The PM-9 was my 4th 1911, and as soon as I got it home from the store / range, I knew I would have a Valor soon - because I ordered one from my phone before I even left! I hate subjective superlatives like "oozes quality" but the PM-9 is on another level from my other 1911s. Before I ordered the Pointman, my 1911 experience was with my two Sigs, and a Delta Gold Cup. I love the Sigs, and I think they provide an excellent value at their price point, in a way not unlike the DWs. While not receiving the same level of care, they use better quality parts than most other production 1911s - not bad at under $750 a pop if you shop around. I was even able to switch slide assemblies between the two Sigs with nary a hiccup or sight adjustment needed. I bought the Colt because I got a great price and could get my money back selling it if I didn't like it. I don't, and I'm getting rid of it. After having the PM-9 in my hand, it just doesn't compare. I mean, a plastic (sorry, Nylon...) MSH? And I don't terribly enjoy shooting the 10mms either. Well, the Sigs aren't going anywhere, but once the Colt is out the door I think another Wesson may be on the way in... Maybe a Specialist? I don't understand when the price is lower while they add the mag well and recessed slide stop... Even if I'm not a fan of railed 1911s... Yesterday's outing: Attachment 705 |
