Default Ruger Old Model Vaquero / Custom Grips

Well howdy pard's

after shooting short sherif models (3.5") I have decide to go to Old Model Vaqueros 357 Cal. in the 4 5/8" Color Case Hardened.

The guns also have custom grips checkered by my friend Tim at Old Laser Graphics.

that is a great wheel gun and the grips just set it off. Really like that!

When you get old eyes, you need every advantage tat you can get.
A lot of cowboy shooters add a Brass Clip to their front sight with a glue that is like iron when out dries.
The gun then goes to the range with a portable Dermel and is cut to size and shape.
The rear sight is then opened with the same Dremel and a different bit to accommodate the wider front sight.

All SASS legal and easier to see. Some shooters have their front sight GOLD plated but I prefer the clip and glue type.

Thanks for the nice comments, the gun shoots great and I have another on the way to make a pair of 4 5/8.
Both guns will then be Short stroked for faster shooting and the second, third , fourth and fifth shots.
