Default Long Overdue Evaluation.........

Ok, so I suck.......Now that is shaking his head in agreement we can get on to the purpose of the post...... I owe John an evaluation.

Many months ago he offered a yaqui type holster at no cost if I would provide an honest evaluation of his work. I agreed with the caveat my evaluation would be honest and not just be a butt kissing because he provided me the holster at no cost. He happily agreed......

Fast forward to a month and a half ago or so ago (I think). The holster arrives at my door. Things have been so hectic I didn't get to use it for quite awhile. However, it has seen a good bit of duty now.

The short and sweet of it is that it has carried my STI Guardian and Colt Defender so far and done a good job of it in conjunction with my Wilderness Instructor belt. The holster stays tight to my body, keeping a low profile. It also does a fantastic job of keeping the pistol secure thanks to a very good shaping job. The finish is very nice and evenly applied and it appears he went to great lengths to make the stitching nice and symmetrical.

My one complaint or area of possible improvement would be the lining. I requested the holster be lined. Yes, I can be a pain in the arse.....Anywho, the lining has started to peel away from the holster at the top, ever just so slightly. I know it will progressively get worse, as these type of things usually do.

So, if you are looking for this type holster, order one! Just forego the lining. It appears he has produced a quality product, which should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen previous pictures or read previous testimonials.

The variance in color in the last 2 pics is because one was taken with a flash and one was not.

Later..............

Thats a nice looking holster..rides high enough you dont have to wear a tent to cover the pistol. Too bad you wear it on the wrong side
Oh, yeah, DID say that

The lining can be a real pain, my biggest beef with the belt slide style holsters is I feel like I am going to hang the front sight on the leather during the draw. Haven't had this issue yet, just seems like the potential is there with the right sight combination. It's a very handsome piece and a beautiful pistol!

Good looking piece there. Like all Johns work. Don't feel bad, I owe him one older than yours.
