Nice reward, Andy. Any history on it? WWI service or surplus? Date makes it late in the war and almost all production was to that end.
Found this........The M1917 Enfield, the "American Enfield" (known in Canada as the P17), formally named "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917" was an American modification and production of the British .303 caliber P14 rifle (listed in British Service as Rifle No. 3) http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1917_Enfield
