I recently sold a Smith & Wesson AR15, and went to the Miami gun show a couple of weeks ago looking to 'invest" the proceeds in a blued Colt Commander. Shoot Straight, one of the largest LGS in Florida had what I was looking for. About 5 feet away on the table, however, they also had a few DW "blems" including a black V-Bob. It was tagged at just under $1,800. The salesman told me I could have it for about $1450 if I paid cash. That was about $500 more than I had with me, or was planning to spend.
BUT, the difference between the blued Colt Commander and V-Bob was like night and day! I left the gunshow without making a purchase. I have placed an XD .45 compact for sale. If/when it sells I will likely go see if Shoot Straight still has the blem V-Bob. So. . . my question is whether there is any downside to buying a blem? Anything to watch out for? Upon close inspection of the exterior, I could see absolutely nothing amiss. Any insight would be appreciated. Regards, |
