Thanks !!! Most of that "dirt" will come off when I clean it. I am not going to refinish the wood as I like the worn weathered look like a battle used rifle should have.

A friend of mine told me a few minutes ago that he has right at 5000 8X56R rounds that I can have as he does not have a rifle like that and does not even remember where he got them.

I was going to comment on the round count, you could make a killing selling most of that and still have plenty for yourself. Lol....

I will try to take a picture of the headstamp of the rounds I have left (not many anymore, maybe 20) for your reference.
